An end to one learning journey. A beginning of another.

Last week of internship and it was a four day work week for me. Took a day off on Tuesday to collect my award at school and I got to say it was the shortest and sweetest award ceremony I have been to. Speech and everything took only one hour plus and it ended. Speaker went straight to the point and there were minimal waiting time. After a tea reception, Silly and me brought my parents around the school for a short tour and it is quite an eye opener to hear my parents talk about how the entire place looked like 10 years ago compared to a modern school campus we have now. Silly and me then headed off for some shopping before catching Inception. I got to say the movie is mind blowing and it is a little taxing on the brain at the start. However, as the show goes on, I begin to realise the unlimited potential that our mind and brain has.

Friday marks the last day of our summer internship. Three months plus of learning experience, meeting clients' demands and handling working relationship with different colleagues. Working life has been fun, tough and stressful but I have to say that it has been a really fruitful learning experience. My first accounting related job has taught me a lot. Many of the tax and double entry concepts have been reinforced greatly through this hands on experience. Explaining tax concepts to Clients was another test of our understanding of what has been taught and what we know. Through that, I realised how little knowledge about tax we have. There is so much more exemptions for various types of business that we have yet to explore and learn.

Working with various staff was also a test as different people have different working styles and it is an exact replica of a project work scenario. Learning to stay positive and face everything with a smile is indeed important as it makes everything in life easier and happier. The three months long journey has come to an end and I am thankful for it. With each experience, we all grow, don't we?

After tying up all the loose ends at work, I headed down to town to meet the babes for dinner cum bitching session at Marche. I conclude that we can really bitch alot and my energy crashed after which. Thanks Jade, for the gifts you that you flew over with you from Hong Kong.

These two days are days spent with Silly and it is weird how I miss him so much even though we just saw each other. Mahjong session with interns tomorrow and I shall go and WOW first.
